As a Skilled Tile Setter at Esox Custom Tiling, you will lead the installation process for our most detailed residential projects. We are looking for a true craftsman who understands that the “magic” of a great tile job happens in the prep and the layout. You will work in a respectful, small-team environment where you have the autonomy to use your expertise to solve site challenges and deliver a flawless finished product.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Advanced Layout & Design: Planning and executing complex layouts for custom showers, backsplashes, and large-format flooring to ensure perfect symmetry and minimal waste.
  • Precision Fabrication: Expertly operating wet saws, grinders, and manual cutters to perform intricate miters, niche cuts, and clean finishes.
  • Substrate Mastery: Evaluating and preparing surfaces, including the installation of professional waterproofing systems (like Schluter-Kerdi) and leveling compounds to ensure a lifetime of durability.
  • Quality Management: Overseeing the project from start to finish—including proper thin-set selection, trowel techniques, and grout application—ensuring every detail meets the ”Esox Standard”.
  • Professional Communication: Acting as a lead on-site, maintaining a clean workspace, and communicating effectively with the homeowner and the team.

  • Tool & Material Management: Responsible for the daily cleaning and maintenance of professional tiling tools and ensuring inventory is ready for the next day’s work.
